"Society Visit"

"LPS visits the Caledonian Philatelic Society"

Three society members; President Brian Dow, Secretary Andy Napier & Graham U'ren visited "The Caley" this evening & presented 3 diverse displays.

Brian opened proceeding with some of his "Superlatives" material; the first, the longest name, the most southerly, the most northerly etc, etc,....all material having some philatelic connection (however loosely).

Graham then presented a display on "Europa Birds Stamps" featuring native, or national, or common birds to a territory. He did say that what was on display was roughly half of the issues associated with the theme.

Andy then produced a round on the development, printing, launch party & issue of a recent set of Fiji stamps; "Celebrating 150 Years of Post Office Services in Fiji"; an issue in which he played a large part in assisting Post Fiji.

Our next meeting in the Caledonian Bowling Club, Motherwell Road, Hamilton, is next Friday, 18th March, 2022, at 7:30pm when Mr. David Rossall, of Largs PS, will display "Versailles". 

Anyone with an interest in stamps, postal history, postcards etc is very welcome to attend.
