"Christmas Mail"

 

 

There was a real "Christmassy" feel at the Lanarkshire Philatelic Meeting on Friday evening (21st Dec.) when the theme was "Christmas Mail"! – and this was interpreted by stamps, postcards, meter marks - in various ways!....and also took members round the world!

Albert Tong stayed at home – Stamp issues of GB – 1966 – 2007 – also covers

David Haig – Christmas Aerogrammes issued through the years by Great Britain

Chris Moffat – Malawi (Africa) – Christmas stamps and covers issued

Chris Moffat –GB Christmas stamps, covers, meter marks issued through the years from 1966

Brian Dow – Carluke Local Christmas  Mail – delivered by 3rd Carluke (Kirkton) Scout Group – 1997- 2016

Ken Norris – Santa Mail – France – special ‘Santa’ covers – sent with postmark "Pere Noel"

The sponsor, Elsie Miller, led members in giving warm thanks to all who had presented such a wonderful variety of displays.

 

Our next meeting in the Caledonian Bowling Club, Motherwell Road, Hamilton, is on Friday, 4th January, 2019, at 7:30pm when members of the committee will endeavour to "Entertain" members with their displays. 

Anyone with an interest in stamps, postal history, postcards etc is very welcome to attend.
