"LPS visits the Scottish Philatelic Society"

On Tuesday evening (15th March) 4 members of the Society visited the Scottish Philatelic Group in Edinburgh where all were warmly welcomed.

The displays were set off by Derek Wiltshire with his display of stamp issues from  "The Gilbert and Ellice Islands" – leading into their Independence and becoming Kiribati and Tuvalu  respectively.

Gordon Shepherd displayed postcards illustrating the building of the "Bridge over the Victoria Falls" -  thus linking Zimbabwe and Zambia.

After the break, the LPS President, Dr Ken Liddell, gave a "Miscellany" display.  This included, "Lismore, Islands off Islands", St Saturnin les Apt and "Postal Stationery of Hotels".

Elsie Miller displayed stamps relating to "The Easter Story" – illustrating events from Palm Sunday to the Breakfast on the Shore.
