"LPS visits Borders Philatelic Society"

The visiting party from LPS were accorded a warm welcome in Galashiels on a wet November evening.

Mike Cleary kicked off his quarter of the evening with a range of medical themes featuring Drs. Koch, Landsteiner and Pasteur, among others. Brian Dow had brought part of his farming collection, this one focusing on ploughing.

In the second half, Ken Liddell featured the extremes of Lanark's postal service, pre-1840 and in 2013-14, finishing with a display on Glen House, Innerleithen and the Tennant family. Alan Wishart completed the evening with his collection of (mainly) postcard views of areas on or around the battlefield of Waterloo, in this 200th anniversary year.
